Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of NewRoot (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. The Service

NewRoot provides general informational guidance, checklists and reminders to help you plan an international move. It is not legal, immigration, tax, medical or financial advice. Always confirm important decisions with a qualified professional and with official government sources for your origin and destination countries.

2. Your account

You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EEA/UK) to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account.

3. Subscriptions and payments

Paid plans renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Except where required by law, fees are non-refundable. Payments are processed by Stripe under their terms.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for anything unlawful or harmful.
• Attempt to break, probe or reverse-engineer the Service.
• Upload content you do not have the right to share.
• Resell or relicense the Service without our written consent.
• Use the Service to generate misleading or harmful content.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of the information you enter (your profile, checklist items, notes, documents). You grant us a limited licence to process it solely to operate and improve the Service for you.

6. AI output

AI-generated answers may be inaccurate or out of date. You are responsible for verifying any AI output before acting on it.

7. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, NewRoot shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

9. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated in-app or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
