NewRoot ("we", "us", "our") helps people plan international moves. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

• Account data: email address and authentication identifiers when you sign up or sign in.
• Relocation profile: origin country, destination country, move date, household details, and other information you enter to personalise guidance.
• Checklist & content: tasks, notes, reminders and documents you create inside the app.
• Usage data: basic device, app version and event data used to keep the service reliable.
• Payment data: if you subscribe, billing is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.

How we use your information

• Provide personalised immigration and relocation guidance.
• Generate your moving checklist, reminders and AI suggestions.
• Operate, secure and improve the app.
• Process subscriptions and manage your account.
• Send you essential service emails (e.g. account, billing).

AI processing

To generate guidance we send the relevant parts of your profile or question to trusted AI providers. We do not sell your data and we do not allow these providers to train their public models on your content.

How we share information

We share data only with service providers who help us run NewRoot — including cloud hosting, our database, authentication, payments (Stripe) and AI inference. We may disclose information if required by law. We do not sell your personal information.

Data retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time, after which your personal data is removed within 30 days, except where we are required to keep it for legal or accounting reasons.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Email us to exercise any of these rights.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is restricted to authorised personnel. No system is perfectly secure, so we encourage you to use a strong, unique password.

Children

NewRoot is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be communicated in-app or by email. The "Last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
